The Baolan Railway in Inner Mongolia was interrupted due to heavy rain. Emergency repairs are currently underway and it is expected to resume operation today.

The reporter learned from the Hohhot Railway Bureau Group Co., Ltd. that around 7 pm on July 18, the section from Hangjin Flag Station to Jiangu Station of the Baolan Railway was seriously affected by flash floods, resulting in water flooding the tracks, road shoulders, and washing away the ballast. The railway department has suspended all trains in the affected area to prevent accidents. To ensure the safety of passenger transportation, the railway department has implemented measures to turn back 14 affected passenger trains and suspend 13 others. At the same time, personnel have been deployed to Hohhot Station, Baotou Station, Wuhai West Station, and other relevant stations to assist in transferring stranded passengers, open more ticketing windows, and handle ticket refunds and changes. As of now, more than 760 rescue personnel, along with 41 large mechanical equipment including loaders, excavators, and dump trucks, have been dispatched to the scene for rescue operations, and it is expected that the damaged railway will be restored and reopened for traffic within the day.
