On August 25, at the 2023 Huawei Data Storage User Elite Forum, Huawei officially announced the open source "CANTIAN" engine. Huawei stated that the "CANTIAN" engine will firmly support the PG, MySQL open source community, and related commercial databases, enhance storage and computation separation, and multi-read and multi-write capabilities, and promote the upgrade of domestically developed databases to a multi-master architecture. Huawei will work with database industry partners to create a "distributed architecture + centralized experience" alternative to Oracle's database storage solution. Earlier on July 14, Huawei released new products for the era of large-scale AI storage, OceanStor A310 and FusionCube A3000, which have respectively improved deep learning data storage and training/inference fusion capabilities, with the potential to further lower the entry barrier for AI large-scale models. According to the introduction, Huawei's released products achieve the AI full process management from data collection and preprocessing to model training and inference application by Beijing Vastdata Technology. By implementing embedded computing power in storage, near data preprocessing is realized, reducing ineffective data transmission and reducing waiting time for preprocessing servers, resulting in a 30% improvement in preprocessing efficiency.
