China and Australia Sign Memorandum of Understanding on the Implementation and Review of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement
On July 15, witnessed by Premier Li Qiang and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia Jan Adams signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning the implementation and review of the China–Australia Free Trade Agreement.
Since its entry into force in 2015, the China–Australia Free Trade Agreement has significantly advanced economic and trade relations between the two countries, resulting in substantial achievements. As 2025 marks the tenth anniversary of the agreement’s implementation, both parties will use this milestone as an opportunity to maintain close cooperation, ensure continued high-quality execution of the agreement, and jointly conduct its review. The aim is to identify areas for potential enhancement or expansion, elevate the level of trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and strengthen the institutional framework supporting bilateral economic and trade collaboration
