Hong Kong Tourism Board: Approximately 24 million visitors traveled to Hong Kong in the first half of the year, a 12% increase compared to the same period last year.
In June this year, around 3.48 million people visited Hong Kong, an increase of 11% compared to the same period last year, with approximately 2.61 million visitors coming from mainland China.
On July 26, the Hong Kong Tourism Board released data showing that in the first half of this year (January to June), the total number of visitors to Hong Kong was approximately 24 million, an increase of 12% compared to the same period last year. In June of this year, there were approximately 3.48 million visitors to Hong Kong, an 11% increase compared to the same month last year, with about 2.61 million of them coming from the mainland.
The data indicates that the number of visitors to Hong Kong in the first half of this year has steadily increased, with about 17.8 million visitors from the mainland, an increase of 10%; and about 5.84 million visitors from non-mainland areas, an increase of 17%. Among them, the number of visitors from short-haul markets such as Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines increased by 25% or more compared to the same period last year; in the long-haul market, the number of Australian visitors increased significantly, by 33% compared to last year.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board recently launched a new summer theme promotion, the "Hong Kong Summer Party", in collaboration with the local industry to offer over 150 summer treats and consumer discounts to visitors and residents, stimulating summer consumption.
