On Thursday, stocks of new energy vehicles rose, with XPeng Motors (XPEV.US) up over 10%, Nio (NIO.US) up over 5%, Rivian (RIVN.US) up over 3%, Lucid (LCID.US) up nearly 3%, Li Auto (LI.US) up 0.9%, and Tesla (TSLA.US) slightly up. In terms of news, XPeng Motors officially announced today that they have signed a strategic technological cooperation agreement with Volkswagen Group and established a joint development plan for two B-class pure electric vehicles.
The announcement indicates that as an important part of the cooperation agreement, XPeng Motors and Volkswagen also signed a joint procurement plan for shared components of their respective models and platforms. By integrating the scale advantages of both parties and leveraging the supply chain capabilities of Volkswagen Group, the joint procurement plan aims to jointly lower platform costs, fully utilize the synergies of strategic cooperation, and enhance the product capabilities of the jointly developed B-class pure electric vehicles.
