TechInsights: Memory will drive IC sales growth by 24% by 2024.
In 2024, IC sales are expected to increase by nearly 24%.
TechInsights' IC forecast for this month has seen some significant changes. The organization now predicts that IC sales will increase by nearly 24% in 2024 (up from 16% in the previous update). The main driver of this major change is memory, with sales now updated from the previous forecast of 41% to a staggering 71%. Due to limited supply and consistently improving demand, memory pricing is much higher than expected.
In terms of inventory, electronic OEM inventory continues to decline, with the inventory-to-sales ratio falling below historical average levels in Q4 of 2023, indicating a return to healthy levels. Die bank inventory is also decreasing, but the inventory-to-sales ratio is still higher than historical normal levels.
