Gansu Province Lanzhou City focuses on four major tasks to explore green development.

Reporters learned from the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Lanzhou City that, in order to further implement the "Greening the Loess Plateau" action plan of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, the Lanzhou City Party Committee Office and the City Government Office recently issued the "Greening Lanzhou" Construction Action Plan. The plan adheres to the principles of expanding greenery, promoting greenery, and protecting greenery, while also promoting the coordination of "Four Repositories" - forests, reservoirs, grain reserves, and carbon reserves. It emphasizes "improving quality", "promoting development", and "benefiting the people", aiming to continuously strengthen the important ecological security barrier in the western region and the upper reaches of the Yellow River. In terms of action targets, it clearly states that by 2027, the city's forest coverage rate will increase from 9.68% in 2024 to 13%, grassland vegetation coverage will be no less than 56%, and urban green coverage rate will be no less than 42%.
