Reporters learned from the Fuping County Flood Control and Drought Relief Command Office in Baoding, Hebei Province that from 17:00 on July 25 to 01:00 on July 26, Fuping experienced a historically rare and strong rainfall process, with an average rainfall of 234 millimeters in the whole county, and a maximum rainfall of 540 millimeters at the Xizhuang station. The maximum hourly rainfall intensity was 145 millimeters/hour, breaking historical records. This rainfall was short in duration, high in intensity, and extremely destructive. Preliminary statistics show that as of now, this rainfall process has affected 46,235 people in 5 townships in the county, with 1,289 households and 4,655 people relocated and resettled.
